Tomas Saraceno

Argentine artist Tomas Saraceno is one of the most interesting contemporary artists working in the field of big "installations." I like his work because it combines high intellectual and conceptual content with a striking visual impact; you can look at these and say "wow, that's cool" without giving any thought to what they are about. Or, you can try to understand their connection to the history of the universe and what all.

Above, part of his "14 Billions" installation, 2010, which "uses the imagery and structure of spider webs to map the origin and structure of the universe."
